JK Bespoke Elm Slab Light
This JK Bespoke slab is created from a live edge Elm slab and is currently on display above the hero kitchen at The Kitchen Studio in Palmerston North where it remains for sale. It is also featured in the shop on this site.
The Bespoke Totara Pendant
This stunning pendant light was created for an electrician’s own home. It was created from client-supplied Totara planks that were laminated together to form a single piece of timber. The light was designed to perfectly complement both the table and the space. This style of light is fully cutomisable to your requirements

The JK Bespoke Balance Lamp
Quickly becoming a signature design, this elegant floor lamp is an ideal reading companion. Made from steel, wood, and bronze, the “head unit” of the lamp slides freely up and down the stand. The head is perfectly counterbalanced by an elegant bronze weight, ensuring a smooth and effortless movement to illuminate your favorite reading spot.
Langston Silver Birch Desk lamp
A client who had to remove their beloved 90-year-old Silver Birch tree commissioned me to create three “matching” JK Bespoke desk lamps. Sections of the saved timber were turned into unique lights for their three sons in Nelson, Tasmania, and London. Upon seeing the results, the client requested a fourth lamp for their own home.

JK Bespoke Bedside Lamps
A variation of JK Bespoke’s standard desk lamp, this pair was commissioned by an architect client for his own bedside lamps. Taller than the normal design, they were crafted to allow the light to reach above pillows and feature timber supplied directly by the client, showcasing Andrew’s ability to create a functional and beautiful piece that meets a client’s specific needs.
Vintage Globe Lights
While visiting a regular supplier I found this pair of salvaged vintage light shades. In fluted white glass they were originally pendant lights hanging from the ceiling of a now dismantled house. After some time in my collection of saved things I made the recycled Matai bases and took them to a show. They proved very popular, sold on the first day and now grace the bedsides of the couple who fell for them.

The Theatre Royal Rimu Lamp
This lamp is the first of a very special collection of pieces created from the salvaged Rimu beams of Nelson’s historic Theatre Royal. The timber was part of the original 1878 construction and supported the building for 130 years. The square hole in the timber is part of an original mortice and tenon joint, a historic feature that gives the lamp its unique character and story.
Salvaged Rimu Lamp
With a slim steel base finished here in black (available in any colour) and a solid native or exotic timber body this lamp design could be made at almost any height.
The pair shown feature native Rimu timber salvaged from the now demolished Ascot stand at the Awapuni race course in Palmerston North (NZ).

The Matai Block Lamp
This elegant and simple block lamp adds a quiet style to any room. Crafted from a single piece of timber each lamp can be finished from a natural look to a polished shine and can be made in any size and with a single or multiple lamps. The light shown is Matai and now sits happily in a clients home.
The Bespoke Chandelier
JK Bespoke’s unique variation on the chandelier can be made with any number of drops and in any format from straight lines to clusters. The lights are also available as single drops. In the piece shown each recycled Matai drop measures just 30 mm square and 250 mm long.

The Suspended Reading Light
Originally designed as a suspended bedside lamp, this light is a versatile and elegant addition to any space. It can be made in a range of native or exotic timbers and could be used to highlight a particular feature or as a fixed reading light over a favorite chair. This beautiful light is a perfect example of a custom piece designed for both style and function.
