Furniture Gallery
Each piece is a testament to Andrew’s craftsmanship and passion for bespoke, handcrafted work.

Theatre Royal Glass Console Table
A truly iconic piece featuring a Rimu beam section from Nelson’s historic Theatre Royal (Built 1878). Removed during 2008 renovations, the beam with original construction joints supported the theatre for 130 years. The design is completed with an industrial black steel base and a 1m cantilevered toughened clear glass top.
The Matai Floorboard Desk
A commissioned piece, this desk was created from a complete section of late 50’s early 60’s Matai floor salvaged from a dismantled house it retains not only the original floor joists underneath but also the very nails driven by the homes builders. Edged in recycled Matai decking boards the desk has two felt lined draws and stands on 100 x 50mm satin black steel legs.

The Totara Cot
This is a commissioned and gifted piece I am particularly proud of, a couple close to my heart were expecting their first child and approached me to create something special. This cot is hand crafted from recycled and reworked native floorboards and steel combined with Totara cut many years ago from the farm of close and now sadly deceased friend of both myself and the babies mother. The baby, a boy who now sleeps happily in his cot that has become the holder of future hope and a lasting memory of a lost friend.
The Matai Writers’ Table
At 2.7 meters long this is quite a table, it was made from a single section of Matai floor, salvaged from a demolished house the table retains it’s original joists and nails. The edging is recycled Matai decking and the legs are 100 x 50mm steel finished in Satin black. Created to be displayed at the Manawatu Home show the table sold and is now the meeting and work table for a local writers group.

Matai and Stone Sink Vanity
A potential client approached me at a show with a project I had had in mind for some time. They wanted a unique vanity, a bit rustic featuring a stone basin and with a 100mm slab top. From the items in my workshop we selected a Matai slab 120mm thick and some salvaged draws. With some more recycled Matai for the frame, a new basin and tap and many hours work my client now has the vanity he wanted and a beautifully renovated bathroom.
The Miro and River Totara Table
Named for it’s component parts this unique piece joins our range of feature tables. The two “live edge” outer panels are from a single slab of Miro, once known as poor mans Rimu this slab was cut from a naturally fallen log salvaged from the Whanganui River. When the tree fell is unknown however based on its condition when found and its appearance now it is thought to have lain in the river for a great number of years. The centre panel of the table is River Totara dug from a now dry bed of the Manawatu River. Again the tree fell naturally and it is thought to have happened around a thousand years ago.

Bespoke Steel & Timber Fireguard
Something a little different is this bespoke steel and timber fire guard, it was a commissioned piece built to a specific design and finish supplied directly by the architect client.
The Tussock Wood Entry Table
This entry table was a commissioned piece, made specifically for an award-nominated private home. The table features beautiful engineered tussock wood with a waterfall end and a contrasting raw steel leg. It is a perfect example of Andrew’s ability to create a piece that is not just furniture, but a seamless part of a home’s design.

The Totara & Railway Screw Coat Rack
Coat and hat racks are something I have made a few of, this one features a natural edge River Totara base thought to be 1000 years old and rail line screws reclaimed from the upgrades main trunk line.
Memento & Jewelry Boxes
From time to time I make what I call Memento or Jewelry boxes, some are simple boxes, some have trays and some have been known to feature secret compartments. These boxes make great gifts and are ideal for personalizing with the addition of laser engraved names or designs.
