About JK Bespoke

Hello and thank you for visiting JK Bespoke.
I’m Andrew Kelly, the owner, designer, and maker behind everything you see here. (Yes, I also sweep the floor!)
You may wonder why JK instead of AK. The ‘J’ stands for James, my middle name and it created a logo with much better design balance than using the ‘A’ from Andrew so JK it is.
In the JK Bespoke workshop, I work with a diverse palette of materials, including stone, ceramic, a range of metals and, of course, timber. My wood selection focuses on recycled, reclaimed and salvaged NZ native timber alongside sustainably harvested exotic species. Much of the timber comes with a traceable provenance giving each finished piece its own unique history and adding to its intrinsic value.
JK Bespoke began with me using my engineering, building and farming background to simply make furniture and lighting that I enjoyed, I still do that. These pieces are the ones you will find on display in galleries, selected design centres, and at promotional shows, they form the collections offered on this website.
This work is the foundation for all my commission projects. My hope with every commission is to help clients create something truly special, a piece for their home or workplace that elevates the space and makes being there just a bit more pleasant and effortless. If I, with the client can achieve that I consider the commission a true success.
This journey has been surprising and deeply rewarding, affording me the opportunity to create special pieces. JK Bespoke has grown into an international furniture and lighting design studio, with work in countries across the globe and even includes a unique commission to create pieces for one of the world’s most spectacular superyachts. While I am grateful for the journey and the opportunities it has brought I am at heart still just a Kiwi bloke who loves nothing more than spending time bringing beautiful materials to life in the workshop.
